So, how about learning and preparing them at home. Today, we will be sharing a recipe to bake easy, gluten-free, healthy black wheat flour sugar-cinnamon pretzels. - 1.5 cup lukewarm water
- 2-3teaspoons dry active yeast
- ½ cup granulated white sugar / brown sugar
- 250 grams Country Kitchen black wheat flour
- 1 – 1.5 teaspoon salt
- ½ cup melted butter
- ½ cup baking soda
- 12 teaspoon cinnamon powder
Steps for Making Black Wheat Flour Sugar Cinnamon Pretzels
Activate the Yeast
Take a small bowl and dissolve yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar in 1 -1.5 cup lukewarm water. Wait for about 5-10 minutes, until it turns creamy.
Making Black Wheat Flour Sugar Cinnamon Pretzel Dough
In a large bowl, mix together 250 grams Country Kitchens black wheat flour, 1/2 cup white/ brown sugar, and salt. In the center of this mix, make a well and add ½ cup melted butter and yeast mixture. Mix and form into a dough. If the mixture is dry, add some more of water and if it is sticky add some more of black wheat flour. Knead the dough for about 7 to 8 minutes until it becomes perfectly smooth. Note: Poke the dough with your finger; if it bounces back, it is ready.
Lightly oil a large bowl, place the dough in the bowl, and turn to coat with oil. Cover with plastic wrap and leave in a warm place for about an hour, until it doubles in size.
Preheat the Oven
Preheat the oven to 200 degree Celsius and line the baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mats. If using parchment paper, lightly grease it with butter.
Boil Baking soda in water
In a large bowl, dissolve ½ baking soda in almost 4 cups of hot water and keep it aside.
Working on Black Wheat Flour Pretzel Dough
After the dough has risen, remove it onto a floured surface. Knead it further for about 3-5 minutes and roll it into a 20-22 inch rope. Then divide the rope into 12- 14 equal pieces with the help of knife or pizza cutter. Of each rope, take the ends and draw them together, so the dough forms a circle. Twist the ends and then bring towards yourself and press them down to a pretzel shape.
After the rolls, dip each of prepared pretzel for 20 to 30 seconds into the baking soda-hot water solution. . Note: If you keep it for a longer span, your pretzels will have a metallic taste. Then lift the black wheat pretzels out of the water and allow much of the excess water to drip off and place pretzels on the baking sheets. Sprinkle granulated sugar on each of these
Baking Black Wheat Flour Sugar Cinnamon Pretzels
Bake pretzels in a preheated oven for 10-15 minutes until they turn golden brown. Remove them from the oven and serve as sweet treats.
Note: Baked and cooled pretzels can be stored in a refrigerator for a month. They can be reheated at 180 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes.
